In this assignment, we were tasked with editing Ms. Shi's original email, providing feedback, rewriting the email, and drafting a response to Ms. Shi. This experience highlighted the importance of considering different perspectives and helped me enhance my communication skills.

Data Tracking Activity

Over the past five weeks, I tracked my daily step count using a pedometer app to gain insights into my physical activity levels. Each evening, I recorded the number of steps I took, the distance I walked, and whether I achieved my goal of 10,000 steps. By organizing the data into a table with daily and weekly totals, I noticed some clear patterns in my activity.

In Week 1, when I began taking daily walks of 1 to 1.5 hours, my step count was at its highest. This period aligns with the days I consistently met or exceeded my step goal. However, by Week 4, I shifted from daily walks to gym workouts, which led to a noticeable decrease in my step count. This change highlights how different types of exercise affect my ability to reach the 10,000-step target.

Setting a specific goal of 10,000 steps each day helped me measure consistency and stay motivated. Reviewing my progress allowed me to see where I consistently met my goal and where I fell short, providing a useful snapshot of my weekly activity levels.

I did note a potential margin of error in the data, as I wasn’t always carrying my phone, so the app may have missed some steps. Despite these limitations, I feel that the data accurately reflects the overall trends in my activity, giving me a better understanding of my physical habits and the impact of different types of exercise.

Ethics in AI Team Presentation

For this presentation, we were assigned to teams, and our task was to create a presentation on a topic related to the workplace to help new interns transition into the professional environment.

My team chose to discuss ethics in AI in the workplace. We began by explaining what AI looks like in a professional setting and then examined the pros and cons of using AI. Finally, we concluded the presentation with guidelines on how to use AI ethically and the benefits that can be achieved when it is used responsibly.

This project helped me develop effective communication and organizational skills. My team and I had to strategize how we wanted to present our information, coordinate practice sessions, and establish deadlines to ensure we delivered the best possible presentation.

Peer Reviews

For each assignment, we were required to complete peer reviews to both give and receive feedback, which helped refine our projects. This process allowed me to gain a different perspective on my work and provided an opportunity for improvement. It was beneficial to both give and receive constructive criticism.

Tableau

This tableau assignment was given in my ITSS 3300 class. Our task was to analyze the provided data, create visualizations for each question, and explain what each visualization represents. This project allowed me to acquire a new skill: analyzing data and creating visual representations of different data sets. Learning to use this tool will also help me analyze financial data, making it easier to visualize information effectively.
